Alyssa’s interest in invasive ecology began at Chatham University where she received her B.S. in Environmental Science. There she researched the impact of deer on forest composition and performed annual plant surveys. She joined the NJ Invasive Species Strike Team in 2023 and 2024 as an intern and gained skills in invasive species management, forest health research, rare plant surveys, and trail maintenance. Alyssa is passionate about fostering connections with nature in others through volunteerism and environmental education. Joining FoHVOS now as a full-time Land Steward, Alyssa is excited to lend her skills to the Community Conservation program and work with FoHVOS’ dedicated volunteers.
