Helen Corveleyn

 

Joining the FoHVOS board in May 2019, Helen Corveleyn brings creativity, dedication to environmental sustainability, and experience as a skilled project planner and excellent educator.

Ms. Corveleyn leads by example as STEM facilitator at Hopewell Elementary school, providing opportunities and encouragement for student. From growing hydroponic organic produce for the school lunches, to introducing a plastic ban in the cafeteria, Ms. Corveleyn has empowered student-led groups to effect change and make substantial progress on the path to sustainability.

As a result of her innovation and enthusiasm, Ms. Corveleyn was recognized as the 2019 NJ Governor’s Educator of The Year, and her groundbreaking hydroponic garden project earned Hopewell Elementary the Best in New Jersey Farm to School Award.

Helen Corveleyn is also a mother of three, Girl Scout leader, and currently working on her Masters Degree in Conservation Biology in a program at Miami of Ohio.
