Kirsi is an author and speaker passionate about vegetable gardening and creating habitats that support wildlife. As the team leader of Hopewell Valley Gardens for Wildlife, Kirsi inspires and organizes community efforts to restore native ecosystems, one yard at a time.
A dedicated environmental advocate, she serves as a member of the Hopewell Township Environmental Commission and is a certified Rutgers Environmental Steward. Her commitment to ecological gardening was recognized with the Land Ethics Award for Best Individual Effort from Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve.
Kirsi has transformed her own property into a thriving wildlife haven—planting over 1,000 native perennials, shrubs, and trees; removing numerous truckloads of invasive species; and establishing a ½-acre native meadow. Her work reflects a deep belief in the power of individual action to support biodiversity and climate resilience, starting right at home.
